When Should Mosquito Treatment Be Done?
Ideal treatment schedule before and after summer — for gardens, housing complexes, and businesses.
Most effective period
In the TRNC, mosquito activity peaks between April and October. Treatment should be planned after breeding sites (standing water, basement drains, plant saucers) are cleared.
For housing complexes and hotels, a periodic program starting pre-season (April–May) delivers the best results.
Types of treatment
In high-density areas, repeat every 2–4 weeks is recommended; the schedule may be revised after rain.
- ULV fogging: large gardens and common areas.
- Larvicide: larva control in water pooling.
- Shelter-focused indoor treatment: bedroom and terrace surroundings.
What can you do?
Empty standing water weekly and clean gutters. Turning off terrace lights at night or using yellow LED reduces the number of mosquitoes approaching.
